Industry News

Alkame Holdings, Inc., a publicly traded health and wellness technology holding company, is acquiring Bell Foods International, Inc., a marketer, importer, manufacturer and customized co-packer of all natural, organic and gourmet specialty food products.

Douglas Machines Corp. has completed the relocation of its manufacturing facilities to a new 68,000-sq.-ft. location in Clearwater, FL.

JM Smucker Co. is buying Conagra Brands Inc.’s Wesson cooking oil brand for approximately $285 million.

Brynwood Partners VII LP has completed the merger of Sunny Delight Beverages Co. into Harvest Hill Beverage Company.

US Foods has agreed to acquire F. Christiana, a distributor of food and food-related products.

Endress+Hauser has expanded its production facilities in the US, including a $9 million expansion of its Raman analyzer plant in Ann Arbor, MI and a new $8 million manufacturing plant in Greenwood, IN.

Crown Holdings Inc., a supplier of metal packaging products, has opened its new beverage can manufacturing plant in Nichols, NY.

Motivo Engineering LLC has agreed to acquire Robodondo LLC, a Santa Monica, CA-based AgTech company.

Package Concepts and Materials, Inc. is undertaking a $3 million expansion, adding 30,000 sq. ft. to the company’s original facility. It’s expected to create 30 new jobs in Greenville, SC.

Dorner Holding Company, the parent company of Dorner Mfg. Corp., has acquired Sautem, a designer and supplier of process automation equipment in Mexico.

Tekni-Plex, Inc. has acquired the assets of BrunaSeals, Doral, FL, a producer of induction seals and foam closure liners.

Cortec Corporation is planning a major 2017 expansion program at its Cambridge, MN, film extrusion facility.

The Can Manufacturers Institute’s board of directors elected Jim Peterson, senior vice president of Ball Corp., as its new chairman.

Harvest Hill has announced a new executive team: John LeBoutillier, as president and CEO, Doug Behre, as CFO, Tim Voelkerding, as chief operating officer, and Doug Gillespie, as chief commercial officer.

ESE, Inc. promoted Craig Moeller to technical sales manager.

System Logistics SpA, a member of the Krones Group and intralogistics provider in the food and beverage industry, has appointed Stefano Vitale as president and CEO.

Ready Pac Foods, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bonduelle, has promoted Nestlé USA veteran, Galit Feinreich, to chief marketing officer, overseeing the innovation department, including marketing and research and development.

W.M. Sprinkman Corp., a provider of sanitary, stainless steel processing solutions for the food and beverage, dairy and craft brewing industries, has hired Brian Armstrong as national accounts manager.
