Wayne Farms recalls chicken products

Products are potentially contaminated with metal pieces

Decatur, Ala.-based Wayne Farms, LLC has recalled almost 439,000 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken products that may be contaminated with metal pieces.

The ready-to-eat chicken products were produced from July 4 through July 17, 2018. The products subject to recall bear establishment number "P-20214" inside the USDA mark of inspection and were shipped to distributors, restaurants and further processing locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered after a customer complaint on July 27. There have been no confirmed reports of injuries or illnesses. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
