Meat Industry Hall of Fame Transitions to New Ownership

The Meat Institute, American Association of Meat Processors and American Meat Science Association are announcing a new managing partnership to govern the Meat Industry Hall of Fame (MIHOF). The three organizations will work together to maintain the integrity and prestige of the Hall, recognize deserving inductees, and ensure it remains a lasting tribute to industry leaders for generations to come.

The MIHOF was established in 2009 to honor leaders and legends whose contributions have shaped the meat and poultry industry. It was founded by longtime industry veteran Chuck Jolley and acquired in 2017 by BNP Media, publisher of The National Provisioner. BNP has donated the MIHOF and all assets to the Meat Institute, AAMP and AMSA partnership. The three associations thank Chuck and the BNP Media team for their vision and commitment to the Hall and its inductees.

The Meat Industry Hall of Fame Award recognizes visionary leaders whose influence has permanently advanced the meat and poultry industry through innovation, stewardship, and measurable contributions that strengthened the sector for future generations. This honor celebrates individuals whose careers have transcended operational excellence to create lasting industry-wide impact, elevate professional standards, and inspire future leaders.

"The Meat Industry Hall of Fame represents the very best of our industry's history and leadership," said Julie Anna Potts, President and CEO of the Meat Institute. "We are honored to work alongside AAMP and AMSA to preserve this esteemed recognition and ensure that future generations continue to celebrate the men and women whose vision, innovation and dedication have strengthened our industry."

"We are thankful to BNP for entrusting the future of the MIHOF to our stakeholder group, and AAMP is excited for the opportunity to work alongside the Meat institute and AMSA in ensuring the sustainable future of the Hall of Fame for both former and future inductees," said Chris Young, executive director of AAMP.

“On behalf of the AMSA members, we are honored to be part of this partnership and excited to help take the Meat Industry Hall of Fame to new heights of recognition, influence, and impact,” said Collette Kaster, chief executive officer of the American Meat Science Association.

“We’re excited for the future of Meat Industry Hall of Fame. Donating the event, its assets and heritage is the perfect next step for the Hall. BNP will continue to support any efforts to grow the event,” said Mike Leonard, executive director of BNP’s Food/Beverage Innovation & Manufacturing sector.

The next Meat Industry Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place Jan. 26, 2027, during the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta.

More details will be announced at a later date, and an announcement about nominations for the MIHOF Class of 2027 will be released soon.
