Are food sickness rates increasing?
New US PIRG report says yes

US Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) released a report claiming that food recalls are on the rise and food safety systems are flawed. It asserts that contaminated food sickens 48 million people in the US each year and costs over $77 billion in aggregated food costs. A&B Ingredients responded that it expects renewed interest in antimicrobial treatments for use in processed meat and poultry in light of the report. The company’s CytoGuard LA antimicrobial treatment alters microbes’ cell membranes, preventing growth and reducing bacterial levels.
