PACK EXPO International 2026 returns to Chicago’s McCormick Place on Oct. 18-21 to serve packaging and processing professionals seeking solutions to workforce shortages and rising safety and sustainability demands.

The show will be the largest in its history, featuring 1.3 million net sq. ft. of exhibit space, more than 2,600 exhibitors, and approximately 48,000 professionals from over 40 vertical markets.

“In the two years since our last show, trends like AI, robotics, and automation have taken off and become prominent in the industry,” says Laura Thompson, vice president, trade shows, PMMI. “We’ve also seen workforce challenges, sustainability demands and regulatory pressures remain top concerns.”

In addition to technology demonstrations, attendees will have access to more than 150 free educational sessions on five different stages located directly on the show floor, providing insight into topics including the State of the Industry (packaging and processing), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), GS1 Sunrise 2027, recycling, material handling, logistics, supply chain and more.

To support small and medium-sized businesses, PACK EXPO International will introduce the SMB FastTrack program, highlighting exhibitors and educational sessions tailored to the needs of small to medium-sized businesses (SMB).

PACK EXPO International will once again feature specialized pavilions dedicated to key industry sectors, including logistics, confectionery, printing, healthcare packaging, containers and materials, food and beverage processing and reusable packaging.

Here’s a look at just a few of the equipment solutions exhibitors will introduce or highlight at the show.

The technology sees and interprets irregular product flow, then provides the information a JLS robotic system needs to decide what to pick and how to handle it. Using proprietary AI models and advanced training methods, JLS VISION AI detects and classifies products, determines which item is on top and therefore pickable, and continuously reacquires targets as products shift during picking. The JLS robotic system acts on that guidance to pick, orient and organize the product for the downstream operation. JLS VISION AI processes images at up to 15 frames per second, helping keep vision processing from becoming the application bottleneck.
