Dole Fresh Vegetables is expanding its Springfield, OH operation with a $9 million investment that will add three new packaging lines and one processing line.

Kroger broke ground for a new distribution center in Forest Park, GA; Primus will build the 1.2 million-sq.-ft. structure on the former Fort Gilem Army base. The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2015.

Mistica Foods LLC, a beef, poultry, pork and lamb processing company, began operations in its 40,000-sq.-ft. production and distribution facility located in Addison, IL. The facility employs 200 people.

Boar’s Head Meats will build a 150,000-sq.-ft. plant in New Castle, IN, creating 200 jobs by 2018. The project includes an initial investment of $80 million.

Kraft Foods plans a $100 million expansion at its Springfield, MO cheese processing facility. The expenditure includes an upgrade in technology and equipment at the 75-year-old facility.

St. Arnold Brewing Company completed the expansion of its 104,000-sq.-ft. brewhouse at its Houston, TX location with the installation of a fourth vessel, which allows the brewery to increase production from three brews to six every 24 hours.

Kellogg is expanding its operations at its Muncy, PA site to include a robotic packaging line to serve its club store customers. The $15 million investment will retain 323 jobs at the location.
