McCormick & Company, Inc. promoted Michael R. Smith to executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Hostess will be sold to Gores Holdings, becoming a publicly traded company.

Danone will acquire WhiteWave Foods Co. for $12.5 billion.

US Foods will acquire Freshway Foods.

Hormel Foods Corporation closed on the acquisition of Justin’s LLC. The company appointed Michael J. Guanella as chief operating officer.

Unilever is selling its Latin American soy beverage business to The Coca-Cola Company.

Teasdale Foods acquired Mesa Foods.

Dean Foods completed its acquisition of Friendly’s Ice Cream.

ConAgra Foods, Inc. Executive Vice President and CFO John Gehring will retire after 14 years of service with the company.

Hormel Foods Corporation announced Jody H. Feragen will retire as executive vice president, chief financial officer and a member of the board of directors. The board elected James N. Sheehan to be the company’s next senior vice president and CFO.
