NextWorld Evergreen
Private equity company NextWorld Evergreen purchased organic chocolate company Alter Eco Americas, a mission-driven maker of chocolate clusters, bars and truffles.

Raisio
Helsinki-based Raisio sold its confectionery business for €100 million ($120 million) to Valeo Foods Ltd. The deal also includes six production plants in the UK and Czech Republic.

Hershey
Hershey is acquiring Amplify Snack Brands in a deal worth approximately $1.6 billion.

Campbell Soup
Campbell Soup will pay $4.87 billion to acquire Snyder’s-Lance in a push to strengthen its foothold in the booming US snacking market.

Conagra
Conagra has agreed to acquire Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin, a producer of frozen flatbread sandwiches, for an undisclosed sum.

KKR
Private equity firm KKR will acquire Unilever’s spreads unit for approximately $8 billion.

Mead & Hunt
Mead & Hunt, an architectural engineering firm, has acquired EMR, an engineering and construction management firm in the food sector.

Allied Electronics
Allied Electronics changed its name to Allied Electronics & Automation.

Dippin’ Dots
The flash-frozen beaded ice cream company, Dippin’ Dots, launched Dippin’ Dots Cryogenics, LLC. Leveraging Dippin’ Dots’ 30 years of experience and its intellectual property in cryogenic processes and machinery, Dippin’ Dots Cryogenics will make Dippin’ Dots’ patented technology and equipment available to other cutting-edge industries where cryogenics is applicable, including those producing nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and animal feed.

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors
Danfoss Turbocor Compressors is building a new facility in Tallahassee, FL to support Danfoss’ engineering and manufacturing operations and its new application development center. Construction is expected to begin in early 2018 and be completed in 2019.

RiceBran Technologies, which produces and markets value-added products derived from rice bran, appointed its CFO Brent Rystrom to the additional position of COO.

Harpak-ULMA appointed Henry (Hank) Glaeser as regional sales manager of the Midwest region.
