In a Constituent Update issued by the FDA, the agency has made available testing results for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in seafood samples collected at retail. The FDA conducted this limited survey as a preliminary step to determine if a more targeted or larger seafood survey should be conducted.
On August 11, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is providing an update on additional steps it has taken that will lead to more infant formula available in the U.S. under the agency's recent increased flexibilities.
This guidance document, which has been issued to increase the supply of infant formula, will remain in effect until November 14, 2022, at which time the FDA will evaluate whether any extension is necessary.

In a Constituent Update released today, the FDA has made available testing results for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in seafood samples collected at retail.
When finalized, the FDA’s guidance will outline its approach to the public health importance of food allergens that are not one of the major nine food allergens identified by law in the U.S.
The FDA is conducting the consumer research on a potential symbol, which is intended to be a stylized representation of the nutrient content claim “healthy.”
