California Natural Colors Breaks Ground on Facility Expansion

California Natural Color recently broke ground on the expansion of its headquarters and primary production facility in Fresno, California.
The company says the additions will expand production capabilities for grape seed extract and help meet the growing need for natural color solutions as more major brands and retailers transition away from synthetic food dyes. The expanded space will increase capacity by 300%, allowing California Natural Color to scale the production of grape seed extract and natural color products.
“We are proud to break ground on the expansion of California Natural Color’s site in Fresno, California,” says Jorge Ortiz, director of operations. “This new development is the result of hard work and collaboration, and it is our goal that the upgraded facility will enhance the company’s ability to better serve customers globally.”
California Natural Color has provided natural color and ingredient solutions for the food, beverage and nutraceutical sectors since 1994.
“Currently, natural color is a major topic of conversation with regulatory tightening, retailer mandates and growing awareness of ingredient sourcing, driving a strong shift away from artificial food colorings,” says Bill McMorran, vice president and general manager. “With this upcoming expansion, we are well positioned to continue to meet rising market demand by increasing the production capabilities of our broad portfolio of naturally derived color and our innovative crystal technology.”
