Anheuser-Buch to Invest $44M in California, Colorado Breweries

September 22, 2026

Anheuser-Busch says it will invest $21 million in its facilities in Los Angeles and Mira Loma, California and $23 million in its facility in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The company says these investments will help Anheuser-Busch increase production of Michelob ULTRA and Cutwater and expand local manufacturing skills training.

The announcements are part of Anheuser-Busch's ongoing Brewing Futures initiative through which the company is investing $600 million in its U.S. operations across 2025 and 2026. Anheuser-Busch aims to invest in people, breweries and communities by creating and sustaining manufacturing jobs, building the manufacturing workforce for the future, and strengthening manufacturing career opportunities for veterans.

"Anheuser-Busch is committed to supporting the communities where our employees live and work,” says Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth. “Investments in facilities like Los Angeles and Mira Loma help us strengthen our operations while creating and sustaining jobs and continuing to drive economic growth throughout California. We're proud to continue investing in American manufacturing and in the hardworking Californians who help to produce America's most iconic beer and spirits brands every day."

"Our investment in the Fort Collins Brewery strengthens our ability to brew and deliver the world-class beers consumers know and love, including Michelob ULTRA,” Whitman adds. “As a proud American manufacturer, investments at this scale help fuel economic growth, create and sustain high-quality jobs, and reinforce our long-term commitment to the communities where we live and work."

The $21 million investment in Anheuser-Busch's Southern California facilities help fuel production of Michelob ULTRA while upgrading canning and bottling operations. It will also enhance production of Cutwater and Phorm Energy. Additionally, the investment will increase rail capacity, strengthening transportation capabilities and route to market.

The $23 million investment in Anheuser-Busch's Fort Collins brewery will help expand Anheuser-Busch’s capacity to produce brands like Michelob ULTRA, adding capabilities to produce 25-oz. cans to meet growing consumer demand. It will also increase rail capacity, strengthening transportation capabilities and route to market.

Anheuser-Busch will also open a new technical skills training center inside the Los Angeles and Fort Collins breweries — two of 15 new centers nationwide — to upskill operators and technicians in electrical and mechanical systems associated with brewery equipment. The company plans to upskill more than 90% of its manufacturing workforce across the U.S. over the next five years.

Anheuser-Busch has called Los Angeles home for over 70 years, investing $184 million in its Los Angeles and Mira Loma facilities since 2021. Hundreds of Californians are employed at these facilities, producing more than 50 Anheuser-Busch brands at the Los Angeles brewery.

Nestled in the Rockies, the Fort Collins brewery has been part of the local community since 1988 and produces more than 48 brands. The company has invested $93 million in its Fort Collins facilities since 2021.
