Hershey Foods Corp. is acquiring Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp. from the Shansby Group. Mauna Loa is a processor and marketer of macadamia snacks, with annual sales of $80 million.
Harvey Golub was elected chairman of Campbell Soup Co.'s Board of Directors. Golub has been a director since 1996. John Brock, chief executive officer of InBev, was also nominated to Campbell's Board of Directors.
Rich Freitas was appointed general manager at SK Foods - Colusa Canning's Williams, CA, processing facility. Most recently Freitas was employed by Small Planet Foods, a division of General Mills.
Brown-Forman, the manufacturer of Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort, is acquiring the remaining 20 percent of capital stock of Finlandia Vodka Worldwide Ltd. from Altia Corp. of Finland, giving Brown-Forman 100 percent ownership.
Snack Ventures Europe, a joint venture of PepsiCo and General Mills, acquired Star Foods, a snack food manufacturer and distributor in Romania. Snack Ventures Europe manufactures and sells Bugles, Doritos, Fritos, Lay's and Ruffles in Holland, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, the Baltics, Hungary and Russia.

The Food Products Association, formerly known as the National Food Processors Association, named Cal Dooley, a former member of Congress from California, as president and CEO.
Bosch Rexroth fulfilled the requirements of the SERCOS PackProfile for a master device with its VisualMotion 10 control system for packaging machines. The company says it is the first supplier to offer intelligent drives as well as a control that satisfies the requirements defined by the OMAC for Packaging Workgroup.
