Willis Stein & Partners acquired Jays Foods, makers of Jays Potato Chips, O-Ke-Doke popcorn and Krunchers. The firm also owns Lincoln Snacks and plans to operate both Lincoln and Jays as part of a new snack food company.

J.M. Smucker intends to sell Henry Jones Foods to SPC Ardmona. Henry Jones Foods is an Australian manufacturer of fruit spreads, snacks and sauces. The sale is expected to close this month.

As part of its integration ofKeebler Foods, Kelloggwill relocate its U.S. snacks business unit to Battle Creek, MI from Elmhurst, IL. Approximately 300 employees will be affected, most of which have been offered the chance to stay with the company.

Paradise Tomato Kitchens named Thomas E. Haney R&D special projects director. He most recently served as director of seasoning R&D at Newly Weds Foods.

The Kroger Co. promoted William T. Boehm to senior vice president of the company and president of Kroger manufacturing. Kevin Dougherty assumes the role of group vice president of logistics.

As the tenth board member of Tyson Foods, Albert C. Zapanta is the company's first Hispanic member of the board. He is the president and CEO of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the board of the U.S.-Mexico Cultural and Educational Foundation.
