CHS, Inc. has completed the sale of its tortilla and chip operation to Gruma Corp. The sale consists of three plants located in New Brighton, MN, Fort Worth, TX, and Phoenix, AZ, with about 250 employees.
Cal-Maine Foods elected Timothy Dawson as vice president and chief financial officer. Dawson will succeed Bobby Raines who will continue in his other management positions until his retirement in October. Previously, Dawson was senior vice president and CFO with Mississippi Chemical Corp.
Impress USA Inc.'s Clover Leaf Seafoods subsidiary is purchasing Connors Bros. Income Fund's Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, Canada, can-making facility. The facility manufactures aluminum containers and lids for sardines, which are then packed in Clover Leaf's processing facility in Blacks Harbour and Bumble Bee Seafoods' facility in Maine.
Cirelli Foods hired Bill Merritt as its chemical and beverage manager. He will oversee the training and management of technicians, inventory management, OSHA training and compliance and commercial account management. Previously, Merritt was a territory manager for Johnson Diversey.
The board of directors at Chiquita Brands International elected Jeffrey Zalla as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Most recently, Zalla served as vice president of finance for Chiquita Fresh North America.
Reynaldo's Mexican Food Co. elected Joe Garcia III as its new chief operating officer. As COO, Garcia will implement cost efficiencies and work with a business-development consulting firm to manage operational growth.
