Omron Electronics LLC has appointed Gregg A. Holst to be its new chief operating officer and president.

Sudipta Bhattacharya

Sudipta Bhattacharya has been appointed Invensys chief software solutions officer reporting to Mike Bradley Sr., president of Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys. Bhattacharya, who was VP of solutions management for supply chain, manufacturing and product lifecycle applications at SAP, will be responsible for both Invensys and Wonderware software solutions business. Before joining SAP in 2002, Bhattacharya worked at i2 Technologies in its strategic services group where he consulted on supply chain strategies.



Hormel Foods Corp. has purchased privately-held Burke Corporation, a manufacturer and marketer of pizza toppings and other fully-cooked meat products for approximately $110 million.



Terry Bedell, William H. LeMaire and Jerome H. Heckman will be inducted into the Packaging Hall of Fame Class of 2007 at this year’s PACK EXPO in Las Vegas, NV.  The three were selected by a special Packaging Hall of Fame Commission, a panel of 13 representatives from various sectors of the packaging community. Bedell, now retired, spent 28 years with Clorox, taking part in some of the company’s most important packaging innovations, including a trigger sprayer package for Formula 409. LeMaire has covered the packaging industry, beginning in 1972 as editor of Package Engineering Magazine, followed by Food Engineering and finishing with the sale in 1999 of Packaging Strategies, which he founded in 1983. Heckman is founder and senior partner of Keller and Heckman LLP and, as an attorney, has worked on the global regulation of packaging for more than 50 years.

Gregg A. Holst

Omron Electronics LLC has appointed Gregg A. Holst to be its new chief operating officer and president. He assumed the position by filling a 10-month vacancy created by the death of the previous COO and president. Holst formerly served as executive vice president of Revere Electric Supply Company in Chicago, a position he held since 1993.



Unilever, which just confirmed it will cut between 10,000 and 12,000 jobs in Europe, is also putting its French cheese subsidiary Boursin up for sale. Boursin was acquired by Unilever in 1990 and has a workforce of 150.
