With an anticipated attendance of more than 46,000, PACK EXPO International 2012 will run October 28-31, 2012 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The show has signed 1,400 exhibitors to date and will occupy more than 1 million sq. ft of floor space. The tradeshow and conference includes both processing and packaging, and typically one-half of visitors are from the food and beverage industries.
The exhibit floor, spread out over McCormick’s North, South and Lakeside halls, will again feature key areas of interest. The Brand Zone showcases containers and materials to build front-running brands; a prominent feature is the Showcase of Packaging Innovations, which spotlights award-winning international designs and includes the 7th Annual PACK EXPO Selects—the most innovative packaging projects from PACK EXPO exhibitors.
This year will mark the debut of the Beverage Lounge, which will join the Pharmaceutical, Confectionery and Baking-Snack Lounges, connecting industry professionals with their peers on the show floor.
The Confectionery Pavilion features the latest in candy, gum and snack packaging and processing. The Processing Zone features integrated systems to streamline production. The Reusable Packaging Pavilion features the latest in efficiency, durability and value. Since the emphasis is on “green,” attendees will find the latest on packaging materials and equipment.
BNP Media and PMMI are jointly promoting the Food Safety Summit Resource Center, where leading experts will be on hand to answer attendees’ questions. “This is BNP Media’s third year to present the Food Safety Summit Resource Center at PACK EXPO, and we’re looking forward to another great show,” says Scott Wolters, director of tradeshows for BNP Media. “Our subject matter experts and speakers will address breakthroughs, challenges and solutions in food safety and, of course, the latest information on FSMA.”
