Green Plains Inc. acquired SCI Ingredients Holdings, Inc. and its wholly owned operating subsidiary Fleischmann’s Vinegar Company, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer and marketer of food-grade industrial vinegar, for $250 million.

Barry Callebaut is acquiring and integrating the chocolate production facility of Mondelez International in Halle, Belgium, in its network.

Blue Diamond Growers, the world’s largest almond marketer and processor, recently unveiled its new state-of-the-art bulk storage warehouse in Salida.

Kendall Packaging has announced a nearly $9-million expansion to its Pittsburg, KS facility.

The containers division of CHEP is opening a new state-of-the-art container processing service center in South Bend, IN.

SternMaid America has been certified for contract manufacturing of foods and food supplements in organic quality. The seal of approval from Quality Assurance International guarantees adherence to the NOP standards for the production of organic foods.

Reading Bakery Systems, manufacturers of baking and process systems for the global food industry, added a dedicated cookie production line to its Science and Innovation Center in Reading, PA.

Unified Grocers, Inc. promoted Christine Neal to the position of executive vice president, CFO and treasurer.

Bosch Packaging Technology, Inc., appointed Paul Jenks as its new director of sales and marketing.

The United Fresh Start Foundation named Steven Titlebaum, CFRE, as its newly appointed director of development.

Fristam Pumps USA named Ivan Mendez as a regional sales manager.

Brambles Limited appointed Nessa O’Sullivan as CFO.

AAK, manufacturers of specialty vegetable fats and oils, added multiple personnel to its US bakery innovation team: Christopher Bohm as customer innovation manager-bakery; Tisa Drew as senior customer innovation applications specialist; and Laura Muller and Kristine Scholander as customer innovation technicians.

BENEO, manufacturer of functional ingredients, named Denisse Colindres as manager of nutrition communication for North America and Christoph Boettger as a new member of the executive board of directors.

Melissa Hughes, general counsel and director of government affairs for Organic Valley, has been re-elected as board president of the Organic Trade Association.

ESE, Inc., a control system integration company, has hired Craig Moeller as an inside sales/application specialist.

Bunting Magnetics Co., provider of magnet and magnetic equipment design, manufacturing and distribution, appointed Steven Peiffer as the company’s CFO.
