GENERAL MILLS will invest nearly $9 million to build a state-of-the-art distribution facility in McDonough, Ga., for its newly acquired BLUE BUFFALO pet foods.

BYRNE DAIRY broke ground on a $24 million packaging facility expansion for its Ultra Dairy plant in DeWitt, N.Y. Announced in 2018, the 42,000-sq.-ft. expansion is the first phase of the company’s plan to spend a total of $125 million on expansions.

Germany-based SATURN PETCARE will build its first U.S. facility in Terre Haute, Ind., investing more than $38 million to purchase and renovate an existing 350,000-sq.-ft. structure. Production is expected to start in June 2020.

GENCANNA will spend $40 million to build a 100,000-sq.-ft. hemp genetics and cannabidiol (CBD) processing facility near Mayfield, Ky., to produce ingredients for food and beverage companies.

RICHARD’S CAJUN FOODS will invest nearly $3 million to expand operations in Church Point, La. The 28,000-sq.-ft. expansion includes production and office space.

After years of restoration, MICHTER’S Fort Nelson Distillery in Louisville, Ky., opened Jan. 31.
