Mann Packing, a subsidiary of Del Monte Fresh Produce and one of the largest suppliers of packaged vegetables in North America, has opened its new facility in Gonzales, California. Joining a lineup of California facilities in Salinas, Chualar, Delhi, and one in Yuma, Arizona, the new fifth facility will allow Mann Packing to grow its business, elevate its existing operations and provide an innovative new space to help the brand continue to meet consumer needs.
Humidity control may be the last thing on your mind right now if you’re running a food processing facility, trying to execute a rapid buildout to meet increased consumer demands. But, as you race to adjust production lines, “dust off” old processing equipment and ultimately ramp up how much food you’re making and storing, dialing in your humidity control will eliminate a handful of costly issues that slow down production.
Environmental demands, allergen control, acoustics, cleaning and production needs all help define what you need from floors, doors and ceilings, and shape the evaluation process for identifying and installing the right ones.
Just-in-time manufacturing, advanced automation and process control, sustainable operations and a relentless focus on food safety and sanitary plant design are the hallmarks of Food Engineering’s most recent Plant of the Year award winners.
