Logan, Utah-based Gossner Foods opened a new Swiss cheese manufacturing plant in Heyburn, ID. The $20 million facility will employ 50 people when running at full capacity.
Loders Croklaan, a producer of oils and fats, opened a new oil processing factory in Channahon, IL. As an expansion of the company's existing Channahon site, the new facility doubled throughput and increased storage space.
Marathon Cheese Co., a natural cheese packaging company, plans to build a $27 million packaging plant near Mountain Home, ID. The site will employ 250 workers during its initial year of operation and will cut and package bulk cheese for companies such as Kraft Foods, Land O' Lakes, Sysco, Sargento and Schreiber Foods.
Pennant Foods doubled the capacity of its plant in Northlake, IL. The $4 million expansion increased production of puff pastry and improved ingredient handling capability, freezer warehouse volume and loading dock efficiency.
