Archer Daniels Midland Company announced several management appointments. Mark Kolkhorst was named president, ADM Milling. Kris Lutt was appointed president, Golden Peanut Company. Scott Walker was named president, ADM Cocoa.

Unilever was named sustainability leader in the food producers sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for the 13th consecutive year.

PepsiCo announced a new management team. Former PepsiCo executive Brian Cornell has rejoined the company as CEO, PepsiCo Americas Foods. Cornell most recently was president and CEO, Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Current PepsiCo Americas Foods CEO John Compton was named to a new position, president, PepsiCo.

As CEO, PepsiCo Americas Foods, Cornell will report to PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi and be responsible for Frito-Lay North America, Quaker Foods & Snacks North America, PepsiCo Mexico, South America Foods, PepsiCo customer teams and all Power of One activities within the Americas. As president, Compton will continue to report to Nooyi and assume responsibility for all of PepsiCo’s existing global category groups.

TÜV SÜD America Inc. announced that Keystone Foods has been awarded certification to the Global Food Safety Initiative Standard (GFSI), British Retail Consortium (BRC) Version 5.

Sodexo, Inc. obtained ISO 22000:2005 certification for its food management systems in the US and Canada. The standard focuses on ensuring food safety and quality from farm to fork.

Leaf Brands LLC acquired both the Wacky Wafers (originally made by The Willy Wonka Candy Company) and Bonkers! (originally made by Nabisco) trademarks with plans to reintroduce the classic brands to the market by the end of this year.

Snyder’s-Lance has begun switching to cage-free eggs used for its products in which eggs are an ingredient.

Campbell Soup Company was named as a winner of EPA’s inaugural Climate Leadership Awards, recognizing corporate leadership in addressing climate change and reducing carbon pollution. Campbell was recognized in two categories for aggressively managing and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and for establishing aggressive GHG reduction goals.

Sara Lee is spinning off its international Coffee & Tea business. The spin-off is expected to be completed by the end of June 2012. Post spin-off, the Coffee & Tea business will be incorporated in the Netherlands. Sara Lee also appointed Luc Volatier as senior vice president, supply chain & operations of its international Coffee and Tea business.

Giorgio Foods Inc. announced the passing of Chairman Frederick J. Giorgio.

Allens, Inc. announced plans to sell four of its six frozen vegetable operations to The Bonduelle Group. The transaction will allow the Allens organization to focus on its core competencies of canned and Southern-style frozen vegetables.

General Mills acquired chip maker Food Should Taste Good.

Pfizer is in the process of selling its infant nutrition business.

Cargill entered into a strategic alliance with the Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) to enable CWB to offer Cargill’s full range of products, grain pricing pools and services to farmers and end-use customers.

Flowers Foods promoted several members of its corporate information technology group. Dave Hubbard was named vice president and chief information officer; Ginette Hall, vice president of IT decision support and distribution systems; and Laquan Brunner, vice president of IT operational technology.

Creative Edge Nutrition, Inc. appointed Bill Chaaban as its new chief operating officer and a member of the board of directors of Cenergy Nutrition.

John M. Hill joined the St. Onge Company as a director focusing on manufacturing, distribution and warehousing systems and operations.
