Cargill is investing $5.5 million in new equipment at its Hazleton, PA plant. The plant packages case-ready meats.

PepsiCo and the Theo Müller Group opened the Müller Quaker Dairy yogurt manufacturing facility in Batavia, NY. The plant will serve as a national production and distribution center for Müller yogurt, which launched in select regional markets in 2012. The more-than 350,000-sq.-ft. facility initially will have three production lines that can produce more than 120,000 cups of yogurt per hour.

Kendall Packaging Corporation broke ground on a 56,000-sq.-ft. expansion at its Jefferson, WI facility. The expansion will double the plant’s production and storage capacity. Completion is expected in late summer of this year.

The Southwest Cheese Company LLC of Clovis, NM is undergoing a $100 million expansion expected to be completed by 2015.

Fancy Pokket Corporation, a Canadian manufacturer of bakery products, intends to build a 57,000-sq.-ft. baking plant in Lancaster County, SC. The $13 million facility will make gluten-free products and is expected to be in operation in early 2014.

High Liner Foods Inc., a frozen seafood supplier, expects to invest nearly $7 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Newport News, VA.

 Van Drunen Farms will occupy the former Dawn Food Products plant in Crown Point, IN. Van Drunen plans to invest $5 million in new equipment.
