Industry News

PMMI
Twenty-two students received $4,000 scholarships from the PMMI Scholarship in Memorial of Claude S. Breeden, Glenn Davis and Art Schaefer, according to PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. PMMI has more than doubled its annual academic scholarship funds to $90,000 to reward students pursuing careers in packaging and process machinery manufacturing.

Hola Nola Foods
Hola Nola Foods has acquired the assets of NatureStar Foods, maker of hummus and tortilla chips.

Mondi
Mondi, a packaging and paper supplier, is expanding its US capability to produce premium, flat-bottom bags for food and pet food applications. 

Endress+Hauser
Endress+Hauser opened a new e-commerce platform (www.us.endress.com), allowing customers to purchase on line at any time.

Sidel Group
Schweppes Suntory recently signed a time-and-material contract with the Sidel Group to maintain equipment at its plant in Seville, Spain.

CSP Technologies
CSP Technologies, Inc. completed a 100,000-sq.-ft. facility expansion at its Auburn, AL headquarters. 

OSHA
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) signed an alliance to provide members, employers, and employees with information on how to properly select, use, maintain, and store personal protective and safety equipment.

Combilift
Combilift opened a new global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Annahagh, Monaghan, Ireland. The 500,000-sq.-ft., €50 million facility includes four 90-meter assembly lines that can produce a new truck every 15 minutes.

Dorner
Dorner has completed a major expansion of its Jülich, Germany facility, a project that doubles its production space to 2,120 square meters, adds jobs and effectively positions the company to become more responsive to its customers throughout the region. 


People News

Rich Products Corp.
Rich Products promoted Richard Ferranti to president and chief operating officer. He is responsible for overseeing Rich’s five regional businesses (US/Canada, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe/Middle East and Africa). Ferranti is a member of Rich’s Executive Strategic Leadership Team, and reports to the CEO.

Aramark
Frank Gleeson, president of Aramark Northern Europe, has been named the 2018 NACS European Industry Leader of the Year. The award, sponsored by Mondelēz International, was presented during the NACS Convenience Summit Europe in London.

Wildeck, Inc.
Wildeck, Inc. promoted Kelly M. Kamlager as its new director of marketing. She replaces Hubert (Hue) Schlegel who retired after 13 years with the company.

Drake’s Organic Spirits
Drake’s Organic Spirits announced Jason Shorrock as its new president. Shorrock recently served Phillips Distilling Company as VP sales for Mexico.

Hain Celestial Group
The Hain Celestial Group announced a succession plan. When a new CEO is hired, founder, president and CEO Irwin D. Simon will become non-executive chairman of the board to work with the incoming CEO.
