FSIS increases species testing on imported products
New testing will focus on several European countries.

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued new instructions to import inspection personnel that will increase species testing and sampling. Increased sampling will focus on products from Ireland, Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom, Poland and Iceland. Samples of raw ground beef or veal components from any country tested for Shiga toxin-producing E. Coli will also be tested. Read the notice here.
