Chobani received approval from the Twin Falls, ID government for a $3.5 million expansion to its Twin Falls plant. The 27,568-sq.-ft. expansion includes packaging and filling rooms. While the expansion isn’t expected to increase production, it should decrease downtime during cleaning.

Hormel Foods will add a line for bacon toppings at its Progressive Processing plant that opened in 2010. The two-phase project at the Dubuque, IA plant is expected to cost $36 million.

Materne North America, maker of fruit pouch snacks, plans an $85 million food processing facility in Nampa, ID. The facility will be housed in a vacated electronics plant.

Mazzetta Company plans to move into a 65,000-sq.-ft. Gloucester, MA facility to operate a seafood processing plant. The Illinois-based processor plans to invest nearly $8 million.

Pinnacle Foods plans to spend $40-50 million on equipment, expansion and improvements to move its salad dressing production to St. Elmo, IL.

Smithfield Foods plans to expand its Kinston, NC pork processing facility with an investment of $16 million.

McCain Foods will spend $100 million to expand capacity with a third potato production line in Burley, ID.

Frulact Group is spending more than $30 million to build a 200,000-sq.-ft. fruit preparation and processing plant in Rupert, ID.
