Coffee Nut wins M&M flavor taste-off competition
It appears Americans will take their coffee any way they can get it as the limited edition Coffee Nut variety of peanut M&M’s proved to be the biggest hit with consumers, according to the candy’s manufacturer Mars, Inc.
In honor of the brand’s 75th anniversary, Mars asked consumers to choose a new peanut-flavored variety to join the brand’s original peanut M&M product on shelves. With more than one million votes submitted, Coffee Nut was named the winner, beating out the two other varieties — Honey Nut and Chili Nut.
Starting in August, the Coffee Nut flavor will join M&M’s original peanut on shelves at retailers nationwide.
“We are so thrilled that our fans helped to shape our brand's vibrant future,” says Tanya Berman, director, M&M’s brand. "Flavor Vote was the perfect campaign to show how much we value our fans’ opinion. The brand is looking forward to adding Coffee Nut to our peanut flavored line up in August.”
