Hershey says this acquisition expands the variety of snacking choices it can offer consumers, adding a high-growth brand that complements the company's existing portfolio and brings additional manufacturing capacity.

The company has opened a 132,000-sq.-ft. facility in Provo, which joins its previous facility in American Fork, Utah.

Colorado-based Fresca Foods co-manufactures for leading U.S. and international brands, operating across five key categories: snack bars, granola, breakfast cereals, crackers and cookies.

The all-cash transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

The new facility, designed to support Don Pancho’s needs for at least the next two decades, allows the company to increase its production capacity. 

The move, which rolls manufacturing into the company’s facilities in Fairfield, California and Senatobia, Mississippi, allows Calbee to keep up with consumer demand while strengthening its domestic presence and capabilities.

The salty snack manufacturer says 80% of its product portfolio does not contain FD&C colors and several brands are free of them.
