As of Nov. 4, the company terminated more than 420 employees at its manufacturing facility on Silver Star Road, according to Florida’s WARN Act notice website.

The 160,000-sq.-ft. plant – Chomps’ second dedicated manufacturing facility – is slated to open in the second quarter of 2027.

The new facility, designed to support Don Pancho’s needs for at least the next two decades, allows the company to increase its production capacity. 

The move, which rolls manufacturing into the company’s facilities in Fairfield, California and Senatobia, Mississippi, allows Calbee to keep up with consumer demand while strengthening its domestic presence and capabilities.
