Expected to be complete this spring, Landshire Sandwiches' new 28,550-sq. ft. facility will include a bakery area and a high-bay freezer area with 44-ft. ceilings and rack storage. Constructed by Clayco Construction, the facility will use tilt-up concrete over structural steel and insulated metal panels for the freezer.
A new 101,000-sq. ft. facility for M&E Distribution will be the company's second location. It will feature a 2,464,000-cu. ft. freezer equipped with 11,000 pallet locations, a temperature-controlled dock and staging area, a single-floor layout and high ceilings.
Martek Biosciences Corp. is working with Lockwood Greene to develop a nutritional products plant for infant formula at its South Carolina manufacturing site.
Designed to add 156,000 sq. ft. to an existing 182,000-sq. ft. facility, the Wornick Company's plant expansion is used by its Prepared Foods Division. The project, which was completed in two phases, provides space for additional refrigeration, freezer and assembly processes for the company's shelf stable meals and other products.
