In honor of National Manufacturing Day, The Raymond Corp. unveiled a 47,000-square-foot addition to its Greene, N.Y., headquarters facility.

The creation of the Raymond Operations Center accounted for 32,000 square feet, which included a second level for office space for operations and support, multiple collaborative team rooms and an employee fitness center.

Meat alternatives lead innovation in vegetarian protein products

The increase in vegetarianism and flexitarianism has made the meat alternatives market a competitive and lucrative space, according to market research publisher Packaged Facts, New York. In the report “Proteins - Classic, Alternative and Exotic Sources: Culinary Trend Tracking Series,” 28% of respondents indicated they are seeking vegetarian sources of protein, which span a healthy range of products from beans and legumes to "fake meat."

Pierino Frozen Foods, Inc. is said to be one of the first prepared foods processors to harness new cryogenic ‘rolling-wave’ technology to individually quick-freeze (IQF) gourmet pasta out of its 30,000-square-foot, SQF-certified facility in Lincoln Park, Mich.The CRYOLINE CW IQF freezer, patented by Linde LLC, Murray Hill, N.J., uses a proprietary rolling-wave action to keep IQF products separate as they freeze.

ConAgra Foods, Inc., Omaha, Neb., announced the relocation of its headquarters to Chicago, Ill.

Beginning in the summer of 2016, approximately 700 employees will be located in the new offices in the city’s Merchandise Mart, including the company’s senior leadership team and certain functions of the consumer foods business, which are currently located in Omaha, Neb., and Naperville, Ill.
