Wheat processor Crespel & Deiters commissioned the construction of a €18.5 million ($20.7 million) silo building at its main site in Ibbenbüren, Germany at the beginning of the year – the largest single investment in infrastructure in the company’s history.
The expansion will add several new lines, allowing FreshRealm to provide a full assortment of products, including ready-to-heat and ready-to-cook meals, meal kits and more to customers in the region.
The expansion is anticipated to more than quadruple the facility's current production output and help support the company's continued plans for growth in novelty and packaged ice cream.
The expansion, in South Windsor, Conn., comes as part of the company's strategic plan to expand its production capabilities, innovate and meet strong demand for its meal solutions products.
The company established a joint venture to build an aseptic and extended shelf life, multi-serve bottle facility to be co-located at Select Milk's facility in Littlefield, Texas.
