Domino’s and WestRock are encouraging people to toss their empty pizza boxes in the recycling even if they have some grease on them, challenging warnings that only clean boxes can be made into new products.

Diageo is introducing a bottle for Johnnie Walker scotch made of 100% paper from sustainably sourced wood, part of the company’s sustainability commitments. The spirits giant, with brands including Smirnoff and Guinness, is part of a consortium with global consumer goods companies, including PepsiCo and Unilever, which will introduce paper bottles for their own brands later this year

No question about it, sugar plants consume vast amounts of electricity, and with a lot of aging equipment, there’s no doubt that several motors and the mechanical systems they drive are probably consuming more power than they should—due to worn bearings and a general lack of maintenance.
