Unique Snacks is a 100-year-old company that manufactures its own brand of pretzels and just rebranded, so they’re looking to branch out into other products now.

With a mandatory compliance date of January 1, 2022, USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) rule, “National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard (NFBDS),” requires “food manufacturers, importers and other entities that label foods for retail sale to disclose information about bioengineered (BE) food and BE food ingredients.

JBS SA has made its first move into the cultivated meat market. The world’s largest meat producer recently announced that it would make a $100 million investment into cultivated protein and also acquire Spanish Company BioTech Foods SL.
