A former staple of FOOD ENGINEERING is getting updated as an eNewsletter.

The company invested $137 million in Louisville, Ky. expansion.

The new site was acquired in Charlestown, Ind., and will produce The Cheesecake Factory’s cheesecakes and bakery products for its restaurants and other foodservice wholesalers, retailers and distributors.

The new facility expands storage and distribution capabilities with new $31 million Warehouse in Alexandria, Minn.

Built on eight acres, the 76,000-sq.-ft. facility will feature 18,000 sq. ft. of cold storage with room for future expansion.

Plant of the Year entrants are automatically entered into the Sustainable Plant of the Year competition. All entries are due by December 29, 2023.

The $200 million project will recycle the equivalent of 25 million plastic bottles once the facility is fully operational.
